Songs Of The Season: Winter 2017

Not all winter songs are about Christmas! This week, we feature songs about the cold, from Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and more.

A winterized version of Afterglow this week, looking at songs about the cold weather.

It’s official: winter has arrived. As we unpack those winter clothes and snow shovels, I’ll be bringing you some songs of the season, looking at the music about our chilliest months of the year. And not all winter songs are about Christmas! On this episode, we’ll hear some songs about snow sung by Rosemary Clooney and Tony Bennett. We’ll also hear some songs about the cold from Bing Crosby and Billie Holiday. And June Christy will bring us a bit of hope as we brace for the winter weather.
