We pay tribute to the arrival of warm weather with music from Nat King Cole, June Christy, Louis Armstrong, Hoagy Carmichael, George Benson and more.

Songs about June, three pairs of performances (from Louis Armstrong, June Christy, and Nat King Cole), and a couple of 1970s recordings from saxophonist Art Pepper and guitarist George Benson that feature, respectively, an old summer standard and a then-new summer standard make up this year’s “Songs of the Season: Summer” edition. We’ll also hear singer Janiece Jaffe performing Italian songwriter Bruno Martino and Bruno Brighetti’s “In Summer” (or “Estate”).
