Bernice A. Pescosolido is distinguished Professor of Sociology at Indiana University and Director of the Indiana Consortium for Mental Health Services Research. Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor is a neuroscientist and neuroanatomist concentrating on the postmortem examination of the cerebral cortex. For seven years she researched brain activity at Harvard Medical School. While in her late 30s, Taylor suffered from a rare form of stroke, which caused her to loose basic motor functioning skills.
