Political Scientist and Professor Darius Rejali

Darius Rejali is a professor of political science at Reed College and an expert on government torture and interrogation.  Iranian-born, Rejali has spent his scholarly career reflecting on violence, and, specifically, reflecting on the causes, consequences, and meaning of modern torture in our world.

IU Executive Vice President Karen Hanson

<br />Karen Hanson, provost and executive vice president of Indiana University, has been teaching at IU in the Department of Philosophy since 1976. She has also published numerous essays and is the author of The Self Imagined: Philosophical Reflections on the Social Character of Psyche.

Economist Amartya Sen

<br />Economist Amartya Kumar Sen won a Nobel Prize for his work on hunger, heman development, and the causes of poverty.  He is currently Professor of Economics and Philosophy at Harvard University.
