Despite being deaf, Scottish virtuoso percussionist and composer Evelyn Glennie has built an international career. She speaks with WFIU's Annie Corrigan.
Conductor Herbert Blomstedt was in the studio this week. He has conducted numerous orchestras, including the Berlin and Munich Philharmonics, the Concertgebouw, and the New York Philharmonic.
James MacMillan is currently a composer/conductor with the BBC Philharmonic. A native of Scotland, MacMillan uses his cultural heritage to give his music a folksy, yet stirring rythmic tune. He spoke with WFIU’s Cary Boyce.
