James MacMillan is currently a composer/conductor with the BBC Philharmonic. A native of Scotland, MacMillan uses his cultural heritage to give his music a folksy, yet stirring rythmic tune. He spoke with WFIU’s Cary Boyce.
After 32 years as a volunteer paratrooper, Alasdair Hutton became a member of the Queen’s Bodyguard for Scotland, his native country. He also worked as a radio journalist in Australia and as a print journalist in Melbourne.
At age 23, Sallyann Murphy was the youngest TV producer for the British Broadcasting Corporation. Murphy has gone on to work as an investigative journalist for a variety of publications, including the Daily Mail. She now teaches history and media studies at Harmony High School in Bloomington, Indiana.
