Murray McGibbon is associate professor in acting and directing at the IU Department of Theatre and Drama and one of South Africa's leading stage directors and producers. For six years he served as artistic director of drama for the Playhouse Company in Durban, where he directed forty productions and produced more than one hundred.
His publications include "Theatre in the 21st Century, a journey backwards into the future", acting editions of Hamlet and other Shakespeare plays; and he has revised and edited a textbook on speech training. He was awarded South Africa's highest theatrical award, the NALEDI, six times.
