I didn’t really feel as part of my generation. My background was different. I grew up without much knowledge of the world outside.

Werner Herzog’s fifty-seven feature and documentary films include Aguirre, The Wrath of God, Nosferatu, Fitzcarraldo, Grizzly Man, and Cave of Forgotten Dreams. He has won numerous national and international awards for his films, and has published more than a dozen books of prose.
