River Karner has been teaching for almost 20 years.  Her academic interests include contemporary poetry and fiction, feminist, lesbian, and conflict resolution studies. Born in Indiana, at home in Maine, she lives in West Lafayette (IN).  Host Jenny Kander reads her poems “Trying to Write,” “At School,” and “You Get Me A Glass of Water.”

Jenny Kander

Jenny Kander, Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Jenny Kander moved to Bloomington in 1992. She received a Masters degree from the University of South Africa, and practiced as a grief counselor for 25 years before retiring in 1994 to focus on writing poetry. In 1999, Jenny began presenting The Poets Weave for WFIU. In her free time, Jenny enjoys writing, gardening, and knitting.
