Maxine Kumin is the author of more than 13 books of poems, five novels, a collection of short stories, four essay collections and more than 20 children’s books.  She has received numerous prizes, among them a Pulitzer Prize in Poetry, and a Ruth Lilly poetry prize.  She served as consultant in poetry to the Library of Congress before the post was renamed the Poet Laureate of the United States. Kumin has taught at Princeton, Brandeis, Columbia, and Washington universities.

Kumin’s 16th collection of poetry Still to Mow, published by W.W. Norton in 2007, recently came out in paperback.

Jenny Kander

Jenny Kander, Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Jenny Kander moved to Bloomington in 1992. She received a Masters degree from the University of South Africa, and practiced as a grief counselor for 25 years before retiring in 1994 to focus on writing poetry. In 1999, Jenny began presenting The Poets Weave for WFIU. In her free time, Jenny enjoys writing, gardening, and knitting.
