Jenny Burdge – Merci at the Flea Market Cafe . . .
“I am breaking my connection. Nobody can please her except God, she is that type of girl.” Closing lines of “Mrs. Biswas Breaks Her Connection with Another Relative” from Reetika Vazirani’s book White Elephants.
Jenny Burdge has worked as a seamstress, assistant in a vintage fashion library, freelance writer and translator, and teacher, as well as editor a few times over, most recently as editor in chief of Indiana Review. Through investigations and syntheses of cultures, her work explores the concept of belonging and alienation as illusion.
