Jane Hilberry – My Mother’s Beauty, Train Whistle, and Crazy Jane

“There is a river that flows underneath all things.  In that river, I will swim.”  The opening stanza of Jane Hilberry’s poem “We Say” introduces this Poets Weave program of her poetry.  Hilberry teaches literature and creative writing at Colorado College.  Jenny Kander reads Hilberry’s poems “My Mothers Beauty,” “Train Whistle,” and “Crazy Jane.”

Jenny Kander

Jenny Kander, Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Jenny Kander moved to Bloomington in 1992. She received a Masters degree from the University of South Africa, and practiced as a grief counselor for 25 years before retiring in 1994 to focus on writing poetry. In 1999, Jenny began presenting The Poets Weave for WFIU. In her free time, Jenny enjoys writing, gardening, and knitting.
