Poets Weave
Jenny Kander reads a selection of poetry by Jane Hilberry. Hilberry teaches literature and creative writing at Colorado College.
Host Jenny Kander welcomes poet David A. Pitcher, who reads a selection of his work. Pitcher studies creative writing at Indiana University and has work forthcoming in The Pedestal Magazine.
Bloomington poet Anne Haines returns to The Poets Weave, reading another selection of her work. Ms. Haines has a chapbook coming out this summer (2008) from Finishing Line Press.
Host Jenny Kander reads a selection of Irish poems that speak of dreams and the need for change: The Mother by Patrick Pearse, Arthur O’Shaughnessy’s Ode, and Icarus by Valentin Iremonger.
Guest writer Barb Schwegman is an elementary school teacher and has made Bloomington her home for almost 3 decades. In this broadcast, Schwegman reads a selection of her poems inspired by a 1995 trip to El Salvador and Guatemala to plant trees with school children in local school yards as part of a travel and transformation program.
