Tensions in Ferguson Missouri remain high nearly two weeks after police shot and killed an unarmed black man.  Days of protests have followed the shooting as civil rights activists, politicians and even the National Guard descend on the St. Louis area community.

In the wake of the shooting President Obama is calling on the Justice Department to examine police tactics across the country.

This week on Noon Edition, we’ll talk about Ferguson and police and race relations in Indiana.

Our guests include:

Jason Rosenbaum, a reporter for St. Louis Public radio who is covering the events in Ferguson.

Jeannine Bell, an IU Mauer School of Law expert of police behavior and hate crimes.

Akwasi Owusu-Bempah, an Indiana University Professor specializing in race, crime and criminal justice, and policing

Lisa Kay Decker, an attorney and Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Indiana University.  Decker is also a former police officer and prosecutor.
