This week on Noon Edition, we'll discuss the lingering effects of the attacks of September 11, 2001 on America and Indiana particularly.
This month, it will be ten years since the attacks of September 11th, 2001 changed America forever. To commemorate this monumental anniversary, Noon Edition’s special 9/11 anniversary program will be broadcast on stations throughout Indiana.
Here on WFIU, you can join us live. On Friday, September 9th, we’ll speak with 9/11 Commission Co-Chairman Lee Hamilton; sociologists Robert White, who specializes in terrorism and political violence at IUPUI and Mark S. Hamm, who specializes in criminology theory, terrorism and public policy at ISU, and who was a guest on Noon Edition the Friday after 9/11 ten years ago. We’ll also hear from Safaa Zarzour (sa-FAH zar-ZOUR), Secretary General for the Islamic Society of North America, who will provide his perspective on how things have changed for Muslim-Americans in the last decade.
