Indiana Ranking Plummets In National Report On Mental Health

asd

Access to mental health care in Indiana has dropped dramatically according to a new report from Mental Health America.

The group ranks states based on 15 measurements, including the number of adults abusing illicit drugs or alcohol, the percentage of youth dealing with major depressive episodes, and the amount of adults with mental illness reporting unmet needs.

Indiana, which ranked 19th in 2011, has dropped to 45th place.

This week on Noon Edition we spoke to experts from around the state about the report, and what it says about how Indiana is taking care of some of its most vulnerable citizens.
