The General Assembly's Proposed Pre-K Bill Is Heavily Debated

preschooler

The legislative session is underway and stage is set for debate on the creation of a Pre-k voucher program. Governor Pence is advocating for the program and representatives on both sides of the aisle agree state funded preschool is a good idea, but they disagree on what format it should take and how to pay for it.

On this week’s Noon Edition, we’ll discuss the different Pre-k  options and what this means for preschoolers in Indiana.

Joining us for the discussion is Alice Cross a researcher on quality Pre-k programs, Shannon Heider of Cummins, which established the Busy Bee Pre-k program in Columbus, and state Representative Shelli VanDenburgh, a member of the House education committee.

You can join us for a live chat at WFIU.ORG/NoonEdition, follow us on Twitter at Noon Edition or call into the program at 812-855-0811.

Noon Edition airs Friday at 12:06.
