Oscar Peterson Verve Trio Mosaic Set

Oscar PetersonOrganissimo poster Bluerein reports that Mosaic Records will issue an Oscar Peterson Verve trio set later this year. The set will contain Peterson’s trio recordings made between 1951 and 1953 with Barney Kessel on guitar–no word yet on how many CDs it will contain. Other forthcoming sets this year include Benny Goodman’s big-band Columbia recordings, Ahmad Jamal’s Argo trio LPs, and Anthony Braxton’s 1970s Arista records (which will be 8 CDs, not 7 as I previously posted).

UPDATE: the Peterson set will be 7 CDs, out in October/November.
