A photo from the winter of 2011-2012 shows the land that will house the Northwest YMCA in Monroe County.
The Monroe County YMCA is breaking ground Wednesday, August 8, on its northwest location.
The new property is located on Innovation Court, off of Vernal Pike. Several business leaders, sponsors, and YMCA Board of Directors are expected to be in attendance at the ceremony, schedule to take place at 8:15 a.m.
The 45,000-square-foot Northwest YMCA is expected to cost $10 million. The YMCA has raised $7.5 million toward the facility.
The new facility will include an indoor aquatic area, wellness cardio center and a childcare center.
