State funding to schools have been cut, provoking Washington schools to reduce its bus service.
Due to state funding cuts, the Washington Community School system is changing the way it operates its school buses in an effort to curb costs.
School bus routes will now be similar to transit system routes with designated neighborhood bus stops for pick ups and drop offs throughout the Washington city limits. Students will have to walk a short distance to a designated bus stop closest to their home to catch the bus.
The school system says buses will no longer take students anywhere other then the usual drop off locations.
