A warm up later this week is expected to melt much of the snow that's blanketing the state.
While east coast residents this week will be tugging on their boots and lugging out their snow shovels, Hoosiers can expect a major warm-up. National weather service meteorologist Jason Puma says highs will climb into the 40‘s by mid-week, and then into the 50‘s by new year‘s eve and new year‘s day. He says the record high in Indiana was set on January 1st of 1876 at 69 degrees. Puma notes much of the snow will begin to melt later this week and lead to foggy driving conditions during the morning hours.
