A delegation of Vigo County educators is in China this week as part of a cultural exchange sponsored by the Chinese government. Eleven Vigo County principals from elementary, middle, and high schools left for China early Sunday morning. Vigo County School Corporation superintendent Dan Tanoos says their week-long trip will include visits to K-12 classrooms in China, with the goal of comparing teaching in the US with education overseas. He says Vigo County schools already have some experience with other cultures.
Tanoos could not go on the trip due to a prior engagement. Officials from ISU and Indianapolis Public Schools made up the rest of the delegation.
