A Vigo County Deputy faces charges of obtaining and attempting to obtain prescription painkillers by fraud.
State police arrested a Vigo County Sheriff‘s deputy Wednesday night. Thirty-four -year-old deputy Derek Cerny is suspected of obtaining and attempting to obtain prescription painkillers by fraud. Detectives were notified by Terre Haute pharmacies that Cerny had attempted to obtain the medication from various physicians over the last 12 months. Cerny is being held in the Clay County Jail and is scheduled to be in court in Vigo County Thursday.
