Officials at the Evangelical Church in Bloomington are hoping for a large turnout tonight at a vigil for missing IU student Lauren Spierer.
There’s a vigil tonight for missing Indiana University student Lauren Spierer. It’s at the Evangelical Church on High Street in Bloomington. The vigil will open with a prayer and then Mayor Mark Kruzan will deliver some remarks.
The church is hosting the vigil as a way to lift up the spirits of the Spierer family and volunteers who have been out searching for Lauren since she went missing June 3. The community is encouraged to attend tonight’s vigil – it begins at 7 o’clock.
Shameka Neely, a native of Nashville, Tennessee enthusiastically joined WTIU as Senior Reporter/ InFocus Producer in the news department. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational and Corporate Communication, with a minor in Marketing and Masters of Arts Degrees' in Administrative Dynamics and Communication all from Western Kentucky University. Shameka also holds a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from Indiana University.
