Video: Watch “Indiana Newsdesk” June 27, 2014

This week on Indiana Newsdesk, we discuss how same-sex marriages in Indiana are being recognized, and new surveys show Hoosiers don't save enough money.

On this episode of Indiana Newsdesk, a legal expert explains the consequences of Gov. Mike Pence’s decision not to recognize the same-sex marriages from last month.

Two new surveys show Americans and Hoosiers, in particular, do not have enough savings for financial emergencies. We speak to one family about the unexpected medical bills they incurred and what advice they have for others to avoid finding themselves in the same financial situation.

And tensions rise at a state board of education meeting as board members propose new resolutions to clarify what authority the state superintendent has.
