Seventh Victim of State Fair Collapse Dies

The victim was a 24-year-old cheerleading coach from Ohio.

The stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair on Aug. 13, 2011, killed six people.

8:00 a.m. Update

Twenty-four-year-old Meagan Toothman died Monday afternoon but not before doctors kept her on life support in order to harvest her organs for donation.  Toothman is the seventh person to die following the stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair.

 

1:53 p.m. Update

A seventh victim that was injured in the Indiana State Fair stage collapse is on life support, not dead as earlier reported.

A spokesperson from the Marion County Coroner’s office said they had not received Meagan Toothman’s body because she was still on life support.

The 24-year-old cheerleading coach from Ohio was injured when a stage collapsed before a performance by the county music duo Sugarland at the Indiana State Fair on Saturday, August 13.

The coroner’s office offered no other details at this time.
