Tony Stewart, Columbus Mayor To Attend White House Reception

Tony Stewart will be honored at a White House reception on April 17.

Columbus-native and NASCAR racer Tony Stewart and Columbus Mayor Kristen Brown have been invited to a White House reception honoring NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers for their community service.

President Barack Obama will host the event on Tuesday, April 17. Stewart founded the Indianapolis-based Tony Stewart  Foundation, which according to its website, was created to “raise and donate funds to critically ill children, drivers injured in motorsport activities and to support other charitable organizations in the protection of various animal species.”
