Terre Haute is projecting winners in all its races.
In the mayor’s race, Republican incumbent Duke Bennett was running unopposed so he will automatically appear on the November ballot.
On the Democratic side, Fred Nation received more than double the votes of his closest opponent to easily win the primary.
Nation received about 68% of the votes, so Nation will face incumbent Duke Bennett in November. Looking at city council, in Terre Haute’s at-large district incumbents George Azar, Jim Chalos, and Don Morris won re-election.
In the first district, incumbent Rich Dunkin did not win another term. Amy Auler defeated Dunkin by about 50 votes. In the second district, Bob All easily defeated Adrian Manuel by garnering more than 87% of the vote.
