Indiana native Teri Moren will be the new Women’s Basketball Head Coach at Indiana University, IU Vice President and Director of Athletics Fred Glass announced Saturday.
Curt Miller left the position in July after just two years, saying he resigned for “personal health and family reasons.”
Glass said he is thrilled about the new hire in an IU press release.
“Not unlike our recent head baseball coaching search, we were very pleased with the extremely high caliber of coaches who expressed interest in this position,” Glass said. “Teri emerged early in the process as a lead candidate and I am confident that with her at the helm, the future of Indiana women’s basketball is very bright.”
Moren was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in April. She was also an Indiana All Star, a four-year letterwinner, and a two-year starter at Purdue under women’s basketball hall of famer Lin Dunn.
Moren previously served as head coach at the University of Indianapolis, and as associate head coach at Georgia Tech. She most recently led the team at Indiana State University to their first 20-win season in eight years.
