The federal government has given South Central Indiana a prestigious American Viticultural Area designation.
The heat and the drought has helped vineyards even as it has depleted many other crop yields.
Oliver Winery brought in a helicopter to its Creekbend Vineyard to keep its grapes from freezing in Wednesday morning's frost.
The warm weather has caused grapevines to bud early. If another frost comes, it could kill those buds and the grapes they would have produced.
