The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says remains of the female crane were found Jan. 3 in a field near the Goose Pond State Fish and Wildlife Area.
The crane was found in an agricultural area not far from where another whooping crane was killed a few years ago.
The Department of Natural Resources say they believe the whooping crane was shot in Greene County.
An injured whooping crane was found in Vermillion County on Monday. It has since died from its injuries.
Conservation officials are offering a reward for information about the person who shot and killed the whooping crane in Jackson County.
