House Ways and Means Chair Tim Brown says he will not advance a bill addressing implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
The committee approved Monday the Republican budget proposal, which includes increased funding for infrastructure and K-12 education.
Representative Tim Brown (R-Crawfordsville), who was chosen to lead the House Ways and Means Committee, is also a doctor.
House Speaker Brian Bosma announced the Crawfordsville representative's new position Tuesday.
Several key members of the legislature are retiring this year, including two from the House Ways and Means Committee.
The bill would increase the amount of surplus the state must have before an automatic taxpayer refund is triggered.
