Secretary of State Connie Lawson visited Bartholomew County on Monday to discuss how the county could use vote centers in future elections.
A 2010 study by the Indiana Fiscal Policy Institute concluded every county in Indiana could save money by switching to vote centers.
Howard County Commissioners voted in favor of vote centers, but there are still a few more steps the county must consider before the centers can be implemented.
One of the three election board members voted against the proposal.
