IU officials are skipping around the idea that this freeze is in the shadow of Purdue University’s recent tuition announcement.
The House version of the bill adds language instituting a tuition freeze for combat veterans.
Purdue University announced last week it would freeze tuition for two years, but IU says it will make decisions based on its own needs.
Compared with other universities, the tuition freeze IU announced last month is more restrictive.
