The governing organization for Indiana high school sports issued a report Friday diminishing the hopes for a return to single-class state basketball.
Not since 1997, when Bloomington North won the boys title, has the state held a single basketball tournament for all high schools in the state.
The IHSAA is taking a straw poll at each meeting and will release the results of those votes.
The IHSAA will hold 11 town meetings to get public input on whether to return Indiana to the single-class basketball system.
There has been talk of returning to a single-class high school basketball tournament.
