Construction of a $1.6 million runway expansion at Kokomo’s airport was jeopardized because of the FAA shutdown
It can take months for FEMA to approval assistance for individual disaster areas.
Under current law, public projects valued at $150,000 or less are exempt from having to pay workers the common construction wage.
Indiana University students graduating from the Leadership, Ethics, and Social Action program presented their finishing senior projects last Friday.
The $1.8 million given to local communities will go toward projects that will make getting to school safer, and could lead to reduced obesity rates.
