Governor Mitch Daniels endorsed Romney but says the he will not be chosen as a vice presidential candidate.
Since Romney has all but won the Republican presidential nomination, Indiana is no longer a factor in the presidential primary.
Mitt Romney's petition included 7,000 signatures. The state requires at least 4,500.
A political action committee headed by former Massachusetts Governor and 2008 presidential candidate Mitt Romney has offered its endorsement to Todd Young.
