Senate Republicans Monday rejected an attempt to revive a preschool pilot program that had been eliminated in a Senate committee last week.
A pilot program aimed at providing pre-k for low-income kids was stripped out of a bill Wednesday. The program was replaced with a mandated study of the issue:
The state's $28 billion budget is on its way to the governor for his signature.
