The president of Indiana Landmarks says the old Union Station and the Crawford's Bakery site, both in Indianapolis, need to be preserved.
Residents of Brown County gathered for a third 'Community Conversation' to discuss renovating the existing courthouse or building a new one.
An initial lease agreement would have saved the facades of the historic buildings but the project was deemed too expensive by the state.
The new ordinance is in line with state laws surrounding historic preservation.
The Indiana Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology received about $100,000 less this year than last from the state.
