Henryville students return to school Tuesday after last spring's tornadoes ripped through the community.
A statewide effort is underway to help Southern Indiana families who lost homes in the March 2 tornadoes.
Their school was almost completely destroyed by an EF-4 tornado on March 2.
Henryville students are attending a makeshift school at the Mid-America Science Park in Scottsburg.
Governor Mitch Daniels was notified Thursday night that five Indiana counties hit hard by storms in February and March, would receive federal assistance.
The band has scheduled an event for May 16 in Louisville, Kentucky for Henryville High School juniors and seniors.
Notebooks and paper will come in handy when Henryville elementary, junior high, and high school students finally go back to class in early April.
Several members of the church will leave Thursday for Henryville, also making stops at rural homes.
