The Indiana Department of Education released a new grading system to measure school performance.
Last year about 130 MCCSC teachers were laid off. The addition of public referendum funding appears to have saved at least one job in 2011.
The approach a local school is using to improve student achievement is being incorporated at districts across the nation.
Veach said he’s glad the governor wants education to be at the forefront, but not at the expense of student’s futures.
