1.7 million gamblers played in Indiana casinos last month, the worst November for the casinos in 15 years.
At one takeover school, only 78 of the 215 enrolled students showed up for class.
Of the dozen or so attendees at the public hearing Tuesday, almost all worked for the Department of Revenue. Only one person got up to speak.
No relief is in sight. The National Weather Service reports the heat index rating to be in the upper 90s on Wednesday.
