An Indianapolis-based supply-chain company plans to build a $15-million facility in Columbus that should lead to 50 new jobs by next year, the project’s general contractor announced Tuesday.
The Phoenix Group’s 468,000 square-foot manufacturing and assembly facility will be located in the Woodside Northwest Park. The company expects to break ground in October and complete construction by August 2013.
“We need more manufacturing and assembly space to accommodate increases in our customer demand,” Gary Sherman, President of The Phoenix Group, said in a press release. “This is integral part of our overall growth plan for Indiana.”
The City of Columbus is giving The Phoenix Group a 10-year tax abatement for its investment.
Indianapolis real estate company Browning Inc. serves as the general contractor for the project.
