Bennett said he wants the opportunity to, "meet educators, principles, superintendents, school board members face-to-face and explain to them, without any filters, what we’re trying to do in this state.”
Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Bennett is holding meetings this month with teachers around the state. Officially termed “Season Openers,” Bennett explained that he wants to discuss new school policies with Indiana teachers.
“Issues of teacher evaluations, school grading, our teacher licensing reforms- really the big ticket items that will enable Indiana educators to have this useful information without the filters they commonly receive,” Bennett said.
The first meeting was held in Connersville earlier today. The next meeting is tonight in Indianapolis and the final meeting will be August 13th in Brazil. All meetings are open to the public.
