Bloomington police didn’t have much to say about the search for missing IU student Lauren Spierer at Wednesday’s press conference after their two most promising leads were dismissed on Monday.
“The bottom line is as we said, the search efforts do in fact continue and the need for volunteers is still there,” said Qualters, responding to suggestions that the search is winding down.
As the search continues in to more expansive areas of land outside Bloomington’s city limits, the need for volunteers is growing. Lauren’s mother Charlene said she is grateful for all of the community support but is frustrated by the lack of help from Lauren’s friends.
“I am extremely disappointed by the fact that only one of Lauren’s friends have called the police department, the Bloomington Police Department, with any information,” said Charlene.
In an effort to make it even easier to report tips, the Spierer’s have established a post office box where confidential, anonymous information can be sent. It should be addressed to:
P.O. Box 1226
Bloomington, Indiana 47402-1226.
The search for Lauren is in its third week and police say they don’t have any credible leads.
