Governor Mitch Daniels is slated to become the next president at Purdue University. He’ll take over for France Cordova who is retiring at the end of the month. A source close to the governor confirmed the news Tuesday. Daniels’ office and the Purdue Administration have not commented. Rumors have swirled for months that Daniels was a top contender for the position. Daniels repeatedly denied that speculation. When WFIU asked Daniels about Purdue in May he said he had not been making plans for after he left office.
