Snowfall Breaks Record This Winter

Indianapolis has received more than 51 inches of snow since December.

Indianapolis got more than a foot of snow on Sunday, January 5.

With an additional 0.8 inches of snow Saturday night, Indianapolis has now received the most snow in a winter season on record.

The total snowfall for this winter is at 51.3 inches, which breaks the old record of 51 inches in 1981-82.

The National Weather Service keeps snowfall records back to 1884.
