The Governor closed the Sherman-Minton Bridge Friday after engineers discovered a large crack in the steel.
Some key elements to repair a major traffic artery in Southern Indiana have arrived. The Indiana Department of Transportation says crews have received the first delivery of structural steel plates keeping repairs of the Sherman Minton Bridge on schedule. The bridge is expected to re-open in March. The Interstate 64 bridge over the Ohio River between New Albany and Louisville was closed in September after a significant crack was discovered in a load-carrying element of the bridge.
