The Sherman-Minton Bridge was closed after engineers discovered a large crack in the steel.
The Sherman Minton Bridge that connects Southern Indiana and Louisville has reopened more than five months after a crack was found.
The bridge, which connects the two states along Interstate 64 has been closed since September 9 so steel plating could be added to a load-bearing portion of the structure. Hall Contracting had until March 1 to complete the project but was offered a $100,000 per day incentive to finish early.
