Four Seymour High School girls softball players were injured Thursday afternoon following a lightning strike during practice. The incident happened just after 4- o’clock. One player was actually struck by lightning. That girl was taken to Riley Hospital for Children and is listed in critical but stable condition according to a spokesperson for the hospital. The other three students, so were taken to Schneck Memorial Hospital in Seymour for evaluation. The three suffered “secondary injuries” in the incident. The Seymour Community Schools superintendent says the three girls were all released from the hospital Thursday night.
